We sell Sharp Sand (also known as Cement Sand) in 25kg bags, bulk bags and loose (for collection) by the tonne.

Sharp sand is an essential component in making cement commonly used for patios, paths and any surface that needs to be level with the ground.

Sharp Sand vs Building Sand

Building sand is very fine when compared to the larger particles in sharp sand. Having a larger grain size means sharp sand is slightly heavier, giving mortar more strength but making it less flexible to work with.

Most people use sharp sand over building sand for floor screeds, fine concrete work and laying paving. In addition, sharp sand can also be used as a top dressing for lawns, and in the garden as it provides good drainage.
