Type 1 (Bulk Bag)

We sell Type 1 sub base (also known as Hardcore) in 25kg bags, bulk bags and loose (collection only) by the tonne.

Type 1 is a multifunctional aggregate that is very hardwearing making it excellent for a number of different uses. These include:

• Pathways
• Patios
• Driveways
• Raised garden beds
• Creating a retaining wall
• Land-filling tasks – like laying the foundations of a new garage or shed

Type 1 is used as a bulk fill and levelling material. Commonly, this is used as a base layer to provide a foundation for further layers above, ie. Asphalt, paving or decorative gravel. It is easy compactible and provides excellent drainage.
